From the United States US Airways offers nonstop weekend service from Philadelphia and BWIA flies weekly from Miami and New York. American Eagle flies daily to and from Puerto Rico into George Charles Airport. Air Jamaica offers weekly services to and from New York with connections to at least seven other American destinations. From London Virgin Atlantic, British Airways and BWIA fly direct from London. Air Jamaica flies to the United Kingdom via its Montego Bay Hub. Airport departure tax There is a Departure Tax of US$26 for all passengers over 12 years of age leaving St. Lucia. Airport transfers Taxis are readily available from the Hewanorra airport. Ask your Elite Island Resorts travel professional if your package includes airport transfers. Personal safety St. Lucia is relatively crime free, but exercise normal precautions; i.e. don't leave valuables unattended in rental cars or on the beach. Place your valuables and travel documents in your room safe. Keep your guest room doors and windows locked, especially at night and when you are not in the room. |
