St. Lucia
The Island that Caribbean Travelers Dream About--A Small, Lush Tropical Gem

About St. Lucia

Gorgeous palm-fringed beaches, miles of unspoiled rainforest, the Qualibou volcano with its boiling sulphur springs, the majestic Piton Mountains, natural waterfalls, breath-taking views, and friendly locals make up just some of the reasons you’ll want to choose St. Lucia as your Caribbean vacation destination. Making up 238 square miles, St. Lucia sits midway down the Eastern Caribbean chain, between Martinique and St. Vincent. It has The Atlantic Ocean on its eastern shore, and the beaches of the west coast on the calm Caribbean Sea. The capital is Castries and the population is 162,781.

St. Lucia History

St. Lucia changed hands between Britain and France no fewer than 14 times between 1660 and 1814. With the British maintaining control until 1979, when St Lucia became independent. Within the Caribbean, St Lucia leads the lobby for the creation of a unitary Eastern Caribbean state and its capital is headquarters of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

St. Lucia Climate

St. Lucia's temperature ranges from 65-85 degrees from December to May and 75-95 degrees from June to November.
