They say “A picture is worth a thousand words.” Normally, I would agree. But in my experience growing up in Antigua, a picture is worth more than a thousand memories of a lifetime in paradise.
I grew up with 365 beaches, vibrant downtown streets, music and entertainment — all at my beck and call.
But, to experience it all everyday is one thing. To share it with others through the lens of a camera, is another thing entirely.
Join us (two photographers) as we take on Antigua and share two unique perspectives.

Day 1: The Block House & Shirley’s Heights Lookout Party
We kicked off our adventure with a trip to Antigua’s historic Block House, overlooking Nelson’s Dockyard with amazing views of the turquoise water down below.
The rugged coastlines and tropical surroundings made for some epic photos that speak for themselves. Take a look!
It was the perfect day for what would become a memorable night of barbecue, cold drinks, and live music at the famous Shirley Heights Sunset Party.
Our cameras were on overdrive, capturing all the fun and those amazing sunset views.
Day 2: Tour of St. John’s City
Our second day was spent exploring the vibrant downtown streets of St. John’s capital.
Starting at the vegetable market, we made our way through the colorful shops, exploring every corner, before stopping to appreciate the history of it all.
The statue of Antigua’s first Prime Minister Sir Vere Cornwall Bird (affectionately known as “Papa Bird”) offers a chance to photograph a significant piece of Antigua’s heritage.
We ended our day with a sweet treat at Fred’s Belgian Waffles and Ice Cream, where we managed to snap a few fun, playful shots before our ice cream melted.
Day 3: Cruise on the Calypso Cat
After two days on land, it was time to hit the seas. And there’s no better way to do that than to hop aboard the Calypso Cat.
This catamaran cruise was all about fun and super easy to board from the on-site dock at The Verandah Antigua.
We stopped at Green Island for some snorkeling and swimming, and captured some stunning shots along the shoreline.
From the fun and interactive crew, to salty sea shanties, and let’s not forget Antigua’s famous rum punch, it was the perfect mix of relaxation and excitement.
Day 4: Helicopter Tour, Local Lunch & Heritage Quay
So, Day 4 was an absolute blast. We kicked things off with a Calvinair helicopter tour, and let me tell you, seeing Antigua from the sky was mind-blowing.
We flew over all the big spots—Hammock Cove, Pineapple Beach Club, Jolly Beach, Devil’s Bridge, Stingray City, English Harbour, and Nelson’s Dockyard. The views were insane, and we got some seriously epic photos from up there.
After the tour, we headed to Cutie’s Restaurant for some classic Antiguan dishes like Ducana, Fungi, Saltfish, and more. The small cottage-style restaurant created the perfect backdrop for some great photos.
We wrapped up the day with a stroll through Heritage Quay, checking out the shops and snapping some fun photos along the way.
Day 5: Zip-lining & The Vintage Tea House
Our last day was all about mixing adventure with a bit of chill time. We started with the Antigua Rainforest Canopy Tour, which was a total adrenaline rush.
The 12 zip lines and challenge course were super fun, and we got some great shots.
To wind down, we hit up the Antigua Vintage Tea House. It was the perfect spot to relax with some tasty food and drinks in a really charming, peaceful setting.
Be sure to climb to the top of the old sugar mill to snap some photos of your own, or just simply enjoy the view.
The Bottom Line
Antigua is truly a photographer’s dream escape. Whether you’re exploring from the sky, sailing the crystal-clear waters, or diving into the heart of local life, there’s no shortage of inspiration here.
And the best part? You can enjoy all of this while staying at one of Elite’s 5 all-inclusive resorts, where local tours are just a booking away.
